Sustainable Gym Clothes: In More Detail
FIND OUT HOW SUSTAINABLE GYM CLOTHES ARE CHANGING THE ENVIRONMENT
And how you can make an impact by making this simple change.
WE’RE IN TROUBLE
Green parks, filled with trees and flowers. Oceans and seas full of colourful fish and corals. Birds happily chirping away every morning. Nature is so pretty and perfect. We sometimes take it for granted. It has always been around, so it’ll always be here, right? Right?!
Imagine a world without it.
A world consumed by all shades of grey. Concrete everywhere. The softness of flower petals is replaced by the hard and cold feeling of metal and brick. Bird songs replaced with engine roars. Sunshine is hidden behind a thick layer of smog. The smell of flowers replaced by the strong smell of petrol.
Sounds terrible, doesn’t it?
The bad news is that we’re heading that way at a rapid rate.
The good news is that we’re not there yet and we still have time to turn things around!
WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?
After the Second World War, our society went into a frenzy. New inventions, cheap production costs, media boom. All of these things contributed to a culture of crazy consumption and capitalism.
Manufacturing moved from high-quality, durable materials to single use plastics and cheap designs. These things have a short life span and end up in our landfills within a year of being purchased.
Never before in human history have we had this much of an impact on the environment. We have literally covered the surface of the earth in waste.
The Earth is a very intelligent planet. It has the ability to take the natural waste and recycle it. For example, if you leave a banana skin on the ground it will eventually degrade and become a part of the environment. Fertilising the ground beneath. This system keeps a natural balance on Earth. This way the Earth can give and take.
This can be seen all over the planet. From the mountains to the oceans.
The problem is that we began producing and using way too much stuff that cannot be recycled by nature.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH MAN-MADE WASTE?
You probably heard the term biodegradable. Most man-made waste is not biodegradable. This means that our environment cannot recycle it, or it needs a very long time to do so.
So, man-made waste just kind of… hangs around in the environment.
And we definitely don’t want that.
Maybe it wouldn’t be a huge problem if it wasn’t for the fact that we produce millions of tons of waste each year.
For example, 400 million tons of plastic are produced each year worldwide. And only 9% is recycled. 91% of the plastic we produce each year accumulates in our environment.
Can you imagine how much plastic this adds up to over two, three, or ten years? It’s mind-blowing. Especially because plastic doesn’t weigh a lot. So imagine how much space does 400 million tons of plastic take up on the surface of the earth. Now times it by the last 10 years.
We can already see the side effects of this in nature.
You’ve probably seen pictures of sea turtles tangled up in plastic bags, and sea horses swimming around with plastic straws. Or huge plastic islands floating on the face of the oceans.
IT’S ALREADY OUT THERE
There are two ways to tackle this issue. The first is, of course, cutting down on the production of plastics. There’s no way our environment can keep up with our lavish, plastic-filled lifestyle. Luckily, we have many talented scientists and innovators who are working on finding alternatives to the plastics we’re using now. There are also many movements that are working hard to discourage people from using single-use plastics and opting for reusable options made from other materials.
Let’s not forget that most of us use the recycling bins provided by the government to recycle our plastics. And we are becoming more and more aware, and moving towards being better for the environment.
In the meantime, it’s important we find ways with the plastics that are already in the environment and aren’t being recycled.
There’s so much of it to go through, we need to get started right away. Contributing little by little.
FIDING WAYS TO SUPPORT THE ENVIRONMENT; SUSTAINABLE GYM WEAR
That’s how our sustainable sportswear collection was born. We literally make gym wear out of recycled plastics.
As a brand, we care about the environment and supporting it. We wanted to create a collection of gym wear that’s contributing to positive environmental changes.
We also wanted to give you this opportunity to take part and help out.
By buying sustainable sports clothing, you’re removing a bunch of used plastics from the environment. And using it to look great at the gym and better your well being. Good job!
WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE SPORTS WEAR?
Sustainable sports clothing is made from recycled plastics.
Our sustainable gym wear is made from 92% eco-friendly and recycled fibres. The recycled fibres are polyester and nylon. The remaining 8% is elastane.
WHERE DO THE RECYCLED PLASTICS FOR SUSTAINABLE SPORTS WEAR COME FROM?
We source our sustainable materials from two places. Post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled plastics.
Post-consumer plastics are recycled plastics, like water bottles. They’re recycled by you, the consumer.
Pre-consumer plastics are plastics that never made it to the shop shelf. They’re usually recycled straight from the factory.
We like pre-consumer plastics because they’re not transported around like post-consumer plastics. For example, a water bottle you recycle makes a journey from the manufacturing line, to the shop, to your house, then to the recycling plant. A pre-consumer plastic goes straight from the factory to us. Fewer emissions, happier planet.
THE BENEFITS OF OUR SUSTAINABLE SPORTS CLOTHING
Our sustainable gym clothes are the most functional and flattering seamless gym clothes you’ll ever try. That’s a promise.
DURABLE
Our seamless gym wear is notorious for durability. Hundreds of workouts later and it still looks and feels like new. The material doesn’t lose shape, ladder, bobble or fade.
SUPPORTING SLOW FASHION
Durability is not just about customer satisfaction. Of course, we want you to be happy. But we’re also fighting the case for slow fashion. Poor quality clothing doesn’t last very long. It ends up in the landfills within a year or less.
Textile pollution is a growing problem. Synthetic clothing doesn’t have to be a bad thing, as long as it’s durable. However, manufacturers are making bad quality synthetic clothing that quickly ends up in the bin.
Slow fashion is a movement that promotes buying high-quality clothes that are durable and timeless. Instead of following seasonal trends, we make durable and sustainable gym wear and that you love and can keep forever!

HAND WASHING SUSTAINABLE GYM WEAR
If you work out every day and don’t have enough gym clothes to rotate, and you don’t have enough dirty clothes to run the washing machine—hand wash! It might seem a little old fashioned at first, or difficult, but actually it’s really easy. Just mix some water and a little bit of detergent. Soak your clothes in it for around 30 minutes. Rub off any stains. Then rinse it well. Voila!
DRYING SUSTAINABLE GYM WEAR
Our high seamless sports wear dries fast so you don’t need to use a tumble dryer. Letting everything air dry will make it last longer. It's also better for the environment! And you don’t risk shrinking or damaging anything.
ACTIVEWEAR DETERGENTS
You can use detergents specifically designed for sportswear, or just your regular detergent. You don’t need to use fabric softener, our sports wear is already heavenly soft.
